We recognize the importance of community engagement and try to provide innovative open spaces for community dialogue related to environmental management.
Here are some highlights of our community engagement events:
Annual Open House - provides an open environment to share information with our community members. Our industry partners and organizations that provide services to WFN are invite.
Land Use Plan – We hosted community engagement sessions with children, youth, community members, elders, and staff regarding the development of the land use plan. We did mapping exercises and included pictures and stories to help describe our relationship to the land.

Keeping members informed - We aim to hold community engagement sessions with each major project that SD undertakes. WFN sends out notices of upcoming information sessions to our community residents and include postings in the monthly newsletter. Updates of a more sensitive nature will be uploaded to our members-only section and will be available online anytime.
Information Sharing - WFN is viewed as leaders in environmental management. We are often asked to speak at conferences, forums, meetings and events to share our specialized knowledge.
